Almost finished with undoing the PO’s cosmetic changes to t he Lightning. Got the Transformers stickers out of the fake tank, now just to delete the decal from up front.

I still keep finding sawdust everywhere. Dude really picked a bad place to store it!

Also, I found out why it’s so loud. It basically has two straight pipes! I’ll probably reinstall the factory muffler that came with it.

Also, apparently helmets do count as a face mask. lol

How are you enjoying the buell? My aunt and uncle each had one and were bummed when they were canned.

I have a soft spot for Buell, mostly just for trying to be different. I don’t do two wheels (yet) but I’d like to ride a Buell once just to see what they’re like.

It’s everything I’ve imagined it would be!

*Like my old Blast, but faster, weirder, and with working gears.

I’d say the bike’s biggest selling points are its weirdness and ability to carve a corner at any speed you dare to try. Otherwise, straight line performance isn’t impressive. All other things  being equal, I bet a 90s CBR600 could beat it in a straight line.

I don’t think you’ve quite understood the Harley rider’s maxim, “Loud pipes save lives.”

I’m glad your a gluton for punishment. I love the idea of a Buell, but I don’t think I actually want to live with a Harley engine. ( I also can only afford the idea of a bike anyway, but ignore my inner bitterness, focus on my outer justifications.)

look people I am WESLEY WYATT LAWSON I ME LAWSON HAD THE pleasure back in 1999 too purchase black and silver X1 Buell lightning 1203 that was bought from Ray Price Harley-Davidson Raleigh North Carolina showroom floor would 4 miles on it my bike is now almost 20 years old I need to do some work to it nothing wrong with it just needs replacing gaskets on it a little scratched up leather from the original plastic for it until this day till this day as of right now there's not too many bikes as long as I'm the one that's driving it on this planet made today can you put me on that bike and there ain't much that can keep up with me now that being said after 4 tomorrow a Hayabusa good Bobby like it sitting still but from zero with me driving it to to whatever 243 Mark miles an hour please a hundred and forty for my speedometer I've got a state trooper from North Carolina ticket and scrapbook 264 headed Mania 3 in the morning back in 99 when I first bought the bike and still do it now let me take it for 200 Mi an hour at bike that's holding it for about an hour flat out so that being said yeah I'm 49 years old about that when I was 34 years old what's a good round Town bike that's about it cuz you damn sure don't have to be on that pay no more than 4 hours 5 hours at a time my body I can't do it but I love riding that bike
